SUMMARY:Hands On! Workshop “Research Data Management” (Wikidata)
DESCRIPTION:Research Data Management is essential. It is not only demanded more and more by third party funder (e.g. DFG) but it helps to stay organized and understand your data even in years to come.\nSometimes only small changes will make a big difference and help you to meet the standards described as Good Scientific Practice. And the better your data is structured the less time you need searching for files or puzzling over data columns – and you have more time for your actual research. In a joint-venture of the Graduate School “Gut-Liver Axis” and CRC1382 “Gut-Liver Axis” monthly held hands-on workshops will be offered by the Data Steward of CRC 1382\, Lukas C. Bossert. In these workshops practical tips on current and selected topics of the research data lifecycle will be discussed and can be used and applied directly. \nThese workshops are forPhD students\, Post-docs\, PIs or friends of CRC1382.\nMembers of the Segment Molecular and Cellular Biology are of course also very welcome. \n\nRegister in advance for this meeting. \n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. \n\n\n\nIn this session we will explore the platform Wikidata and do some queries. \n\nWe are looking forward to seeing you\,\nChristin and Lukas

SUMMARY:Hands On! Workshop “Research Data Management” (JupyterNotebook)
SUMMARY:Workshop "Research Data Management in Medicine"
DESCRIPTION:Please register for this workshop via \n\nhttps://www.rwth-aachen.de/go/id/mkbr/file/9-2949/ \n\nThe workshop is divided into two parts: There is an online Moodle course\, which has to be worked through by the participants themselves beforehand. The second part is this online seminar in which questions from the Moodle course are addressed and various points regarding research data management in medicine are discussed and practiced in detail. \n\nResearch data management is based on the life cycle of research data\, which comprises various steps. These range from the application and planning phase as well as the collection of research data\, the selection of data to be retained\, their storage and publication\, to securing access and use. Overarching tasks along this life cycle include questions about the costs of storage and conservation measures and who bears them\, which metadata must be created in order to search for and describe them\, or how to make the data permanently findable and citable by means of persistent identifiers. \nSpecial framework conditions for research data management in medicine are\, for example\, the enormous amounts of data that accumulate for archiving or publication\, which is mainly due to the large number of imaging procedures or data from gene sequencing. Another special feature is the legal framework in medicine with regard to data protection and the personal rights of patients. \nIn addition to an introduction to research data management\, the event will show support possibilities for researchers from the Research Data Competence Center of RWTH Aachen University and the ZB MED.
