DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, 10.05.2023 at 3:30 pm\, Thaher Pelaseyed will be the speaker of our next ‘Gut\, Liver and Friends‘ seminar. \nDr. Thaher Pelaseyed is Assistant Professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the University of Gothenburg\, Sweden.  \nThe Pelasayed Lab investigates the role of membrane mucins in mucosal innate immunity. \nResearch field: \n\n‘Our research group is part of Mucin Biology Groups at the University of Gothenburg. We are one of few research labs in the world who study the function and regulation of membrane mucins in defending our gastrointestinal tract. \nOur aim is to elucidate the function of membrane mucins in intestinal barriers and to determine how we can harness the function of membrane mucins in order to combat diseases such as Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and endemic intestinal infections.’
