Annual CRC1382 retreat October 2024

In October it was time again for the whole CRC 1382 consortium to meet up during the annual retreat. Embedded in the inspiring surrounding of Abbey Steinfeld, young scientists and PIs met for two days to either set up or strengthen their cooperation, to network and to exchange their project ideas. This year, PhD students and Postdocs were given a bigger platform because the traditional project reports at the retreat given by PIs have been outsourced towards the CRC 1382 project days.  The young scientists very well mastered the challenge to give an only 1 minute lasting teaser presentation towards their subsequent poster presentation. The tradition of a fun team building event was not missed out on the first day, though this time it was an event of the other kind, specifically speed dating. Here, under the umbrella of  “research and career”, PhD students and Postdocs took the opportunity to exchange  with the PIs in a brisk 1:1 session about this topic, before the evening came to a relaxed end at the bar. The second day everyone was amazed by the results of the “CRC 1382 Public Outreach” task force. Presentation at the Pint of Science 2024, an interactive Booth at Science Night and a LinkedIn profile are just a few to name that emerged out of a very committed and productive engangement between PI Marianne Grognot, Postdocs and PhD students. Annual retreat 2025, we are looking forward towards it!
