Alessandra F. Perna is Full Professor of Nephrology at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” in Naples, Italy. She studied over three decades the topic of uremic toxicity, with special regard to the derangements of sulfur compounds.Lately, the research focus has been on the role of these compounds in the altered microbiota of chronic kidney disease patient.
