‘Gut, Liver and Friends’ Seminar with Zania Stamataki
6. April 2022 @ 15:30 - 16:30
The Stamataki Lab in Birmingham, UK, studies how immune cells in the liver microenvironment contribute to disease pathogenesis.
One focus of the group is to understand the process of encclysis. Enclysis is the enclosure and lysis of regulatory T cells by hepatocytes. A first paper on this new process was released in November 2019 (Davies et al., Cell Reports 2019). Recent woork aims at exploring ways to use this pathway for the benefit of patients with liver diseases and liver cancer.
The title of the talk is
“Enclysis – How hepatocytes engulf and delete Treg cells”
